Do you have to have previous computer experience to attend TECHie Camp?
For most of the camps No you do not have to have previous experience. However, for the MS: Android App camp, students do need to have some programming experience. Please review the camp descriptions for additional information.
What is covered in the cost of tuition?
Tuition includes all student supplies, as well as a nutritious lunch and two snacks.

How much time do students spend on the computer each day?
It depends on the camp but typically no more than five hours a day. Each day, students engage in recreational and outside activities.
What types of meals do you provide?
Students receive a well-balanced and nutritious lunch as well as a morning and afternoon snack.
How do you handle students with food allergies/special dietary needs at camp?
Students with severe food restrictions should plan to bring food from home in place of camp meals. All snacks and lunches are peanut-free.
What are the qualifications of your TECHie Camp Instructors?
Our instructors have demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Programming (C++ and/or Java); Robotics; Web Design and Flash® Animation; Graphic Arts and 2D /3D Video Game Design. They also have a genuine desire to educate, empower, and excite students with technology. Our instructors are often graduate and Ph D students in computer science or engineering; computer science teachers; district technology coordinators or IT professionals. All camp instructors complete an in-depth training session as well as an extensive background check.
What is the Refund/Cancelation Policy?
No refunds will be issued for early withdrawal due to absences (for any reason including sickness), behavioral dismissals, power failures, unforeseeable events not within the control of TECH CORPS Ohio or other acts of nature. If students leave camp early for ANY reason, the tuition is NOT prorated and no refund will be issued.
Tuition is refundable (less a $100 cancelation fee) up until 14 days prior to the start of the confirmed camp week/session. A $100 cancellation fee will be withheld per camp week/session. There are no refunds for cancellations requested less than 14 days prior to the start of confirmed camp week/session.
What if my child gets sick before/during their week of camp?
Our cancellation policy applies for all cancellations including those due to illness. However, we understand that a student becoming ill is not something that you can plan. If for some reason your student cannot attend camp due to a medical condition, emergency or illness, we will work with you as best we can to move your student to an alternate week.
What is your medication policy?
TECH CORPS personnel are not authorized to give any student any prescription or over-the-counter medication. Please refrain from bringing any medication, i.e. vitamins and/or supplements to camp. We ask that students attending camp please take ALL medication and/or vitamins before camp. Our policy does not allow for any child with an acute illness to attend camp on those days which obligate the child to take medication during camp hours.
How do I find out if the TECHie Camp I want is still open for enrollment?
The online registration system will not allow you to complete registration for a camp that is already full.
When is the last day that I can register for a session?
One week prior to the start date. But we recommend registering early to secure your seat!
May I register my gifted child for an older age group?
No, we strictly enforce age requirements. Your child must be the correct age or entering the grade level of the camp as of the first day of camp.
I only need Before/After Care for one day. Can I do that?
Before and After Care is provided if the demand is there. If a few parents request the service, it is not fiscally responsible to provide the services.
How should my child dress for camp?
In comfortable clothes that may get messy. For safety, we recommend closed-toe shoes. Students may also need a sweater in case the camp room is cool.
What is the Drop off and Pick Up Policy?
Drop off begins at 8:50am and children must be picked up by 5:10pm to avoid late fees. If you pick up your child after 5:10pm there is a $20 late fee.
Who can I contact during the day if I need to leave an emergency message concerning my child?
Please call the TECH CORPS Ohio Office at 614-583-9211 and a staff member will deliver your message to the appropriate person.
May I attend a session?
For security purposes, we do not permit parents nor unregistered students to sit in on TECHie Camp classes.
